Speedy Chiefs WR gets rookie campaign started at mini camp

In 2017, the Buffalo Bills held the 10th pick in the NFL Draft, but instead of choosing a player at that spot, they traded back to number 27 and let the Kansas City Chiefs trade up and take a quarterback from Texas Tech named Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes has won three Super Bowls in the last six years and has beaten the Bills three times in the playoffs, once in the conference championship game, and twice in the divisional round. Still, suppose you thought the Bills were done handing the Kansas City Chiefs a star player. In that case, I have news for you because last week, when the Chiefs traded up in the first round to take Texas star wide receiver Xavier Worthy, the team they traded with was the Buffalo Bills. The Chiefs got pick No. 28, and the Bills got picked 32nd. Still, they wouldn’t draft until pick 33 because they traded out of No. 32 to the Carolina Panthers.

Xavier Worthy Is A Track Star

Worthy has been known as one of the fastest wide receivers in college the past few seasons. In three seasons with the Longhorns, he racked up 2,755 receiving yards and 26 scores in 39 games. The 6-foot-1 wide receiver had something to prove when he entered the NFL Scouting Combine at the end of February, and he would go on to run the fastest 40-yard dash in NFL Combine history, breaking John Ross’s record of 4.22.

Of course, the Chiefs, who had one of the fastest receivers in league history, Tyreek Hill, would be all over a guy like Worthy, who’s even quicker. They ended up drafting him with the 28th overall pick, and now there are a lot of high expectations for the young player.

Worthy Had His First Rookie Mini Camp This Weekend With The Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are hosting a rookie minicamp this weekend, and that’s where all their rookies go. Some veteran players trying to get back in the league go for the weekend to start practicing without the current veterans on the roster. A viral video of Worthy was going around after he was running a drill, and he went to catch the football, and the ball bounced off his fingertips.

Of course, many people went to social media to take a shot at Worthy after dropping an easy pass, and some were even comparing him to another wideout who’s on the Chiefs roster and has a drop issue of his own.
