Minnesota Timberwolves: NBA Legend Calls Anthony Edwards The ‘Complete Package’ Amid Powerful Playoff Dominance
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Just recently, Anthony Edwards put on a Kobe Bryant-worthy performance against the Denver Nuggets in Game 1 . As a result, NBA legend Dirk Nowitzki gave the Minnesota Timberwolves star his flowers by saying he’s a complete package.

In Minnesota’s first game against the Nikola Jokic-led Nuggets , Edwards put on a show by dropping 43 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Karl-Anthony Towns notched 20 points on 61 percent shooting from the field, four rebounds, and three assists. Meanwhile, Mike Conley played his part well by contributing 14 points and 10 assists.

For his part, Jokic showed why he can potentially win his third MVP by posting 32 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists. Michael Porter Jr. added 20 points and six rebounds, while Jamal Murray finished the game with 17 points and four assists.

The win made heads turn towards Edwards’ direction as he’s slowly establishing his case as the next face of the league. With his recent domination of the Kevin Durant-led Phoenix Suns, more and more people are getting convinced he’s the real deal. The Nuggets, on the other hand, must find a way to contain Edwards or they’ll lose the chance to defend their titles this year.

Dallas Mavericks Legend Dirk Nowitzki Says Minnesota Timberwolves’ Anthony Edwards is the Complete Package

After the game several personalities have given their take on Edward’s monster performance. Among them is Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki in a video posted by NBA on TNT’s official account:

In the five games Edwards has played in this year’s playoffs, the Timberwolves All-Star guard has averaged 33.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 5.6 assists, and 1.8 steals per game. He’s also connecting 53 percent of his shots from the field, 43 percent from downtown, and 86 percent from the free throw line. With that kind of production and efficiency, Denver may have to adjust fast or else see their season end earlier than expected.

The Nuggets will have to find out how to limit Edwards’ impact on the court or face elimination in just a couple of games. In any case, the young guard is truly making his presence felt in just his fourth year in the NBA. If things go along this path, it’ll only be a matter of time before he becomes the most popular star in the league.
