Watch: Chris Buescher left stunned after historic finish
NASCAR Cup Series driver Chris Buescher Matthew O'Haren-USA TODAY Sports

Chris Buescher was not too thrilled to be the closest runner-up in NASCAR Cup Series history.

Buescher finished second behind Kyle Larson in the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas on Sunday. He lost to Larson by 0.001 seconds, which was the closest finish in Cup Series history.

After the race, Buescher was interviewed by FOX, which aired the race. The driver of the No. 17 Ford for RFK Racing did not seem happy with the declared result.

“I don’t know what to say right now. I haven’t seen a replay other than just a picture, and I sure can’t see it in the picture,” Buescher vented.

“I still can’t see (where Larson won),” he reiterated after FOX showed a video replay.

The margin of defeat was so tiny that it really was hard to see the difference between Buescher and Larson. It’s no wonder Buescher was upset about missing out on what would have been his first win of the Cup Series season.
